ALGIERS- A judicial cooperation agreement in criminal matters and a memorandum of understanding in institutional cooperation between Algeria and Guinea were signed Tuesday,
in Algiers, as part of the 3rd session of the Algerian-Guinean joint committee.
The agreement was signed by the Algerian minister of Justice Tayeb Louh and the Guinean Minister of State, Minister of Justice Cheikh Sako.
On this occasion, Louh said that the signing of this cooperation agreement and this MoU will open the way for “an exchange of experiences” between the two countries and will “allow benefitting from the best practices in the legal and judicial fields,” adding that “the reform and strengthening of justice, as a guarantor of rights and liberties, is a common goal in Africa.”
“Judicial cooperation and the exchange of experiences became important mechanisms in the fight against cross-border crime, mainly terrorism,” added the Algerian Minister of Justice.
Welcoming the signing of this agreement and the development of the justice sector in Algeria thanks to the undertaken modernization actions, the Guinean minister said that Algeria is a “model” in the matter and that his country counts on the strengthening of bilateral cooperation to promote the justice sector.
