ALGIERS-The 53th Annual Meetings of the African Development Bank (AfDB) and the 44th Annual Meetings of the African Development Fund (ADF) will take place on 21-25 May in Bussan (South Korea),
in the presence of Finance Minister Abderrahmane Raouya, announced Sunday the Ministry in a communiqué.
The Meetings will be an opportunity for financial and economic leaders of AfDB member countries to exchange experiences and viewpoints on the international economic and financial situation, said the source.
This year’s AfDP Annual Meetings will be themed “Accelerating Africa’s industrialization.”
The choice of this theme reflects the member countries’ commitment to sustainable industrialization in Africa as a mean to foster structural transformation.
The meetings and events scheduled on the sidelines of these Meetings will discuss the continent’s key challenges in terms of industrialization and the lessons learned from the experiences of major industrial countries.
On the sidelines of these Meetings, Raouya will hold talks with his counterparts from AfDB member countries representing their countries at the Board of Governors. He will also meet with leaders of international and regional financial institutions.
Moreover, Raouya will participate in the “Dialogue on economic prospects in Africa in 2018” and the meeting of the Joint Steering Committee in which Algeria is a member alongside 8 other countries.
On the sidelines of these meetings and at the invitation of South Korea’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Strategy and Finance, Raouya will take part in the 6th Korea-Africa Economic Cooperation (KOAFEC) Conference.
Algeria, which is among the AfDB founding states, is the fourth shareholder in the institution’s capital among African countries and the seventh among the overall member states.
