About sixty foreign diplomats participated in “Marhaba” programme

ALGIERS- About sixty foreign diplomats, including 15 ambassadors, participated in the 5th “Marhaba” programme, organized from 14 to 18 October by the Institute of Diplomacy and International Relations (IDRI),
said Wednesday the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a communiqué.
“Kicked off by the Ministry’s secretary general who led a conference on Algeria’s foreign policy, this new edition was marked by the participation of about sixty diplomats, including 15 ambassadors, who interacted, in guided tours, with the officials of various institutions and bodies, like the Council of the Nation, the province of Tipasa, the Algerian Olympic Committee, the National Agency of Development and Investment, the Local Development Bank, national hydrocarbon company Sonatrach, medical-surgical industry firms, Nestlé Algeria ad well as Bardo Museum and the Opera of Algiers, said the source.
In this regard, the ministry underlined that “the cultural aspect, reflecting the diversity of our country’s religious heritage, was also on the agenda of the diplomats as they visited Belkaïdia Zawiya, Ketchaoua mosque and the Basilica Notre Dame d’Afrique.”
Launched by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2014, “Marhaba” programme which is made up of a series of activities for foreign diplomats, newly accredited in Algeria, includes visits to national institutions, economic, cultural and tourist sites as well as thematic conferences, added the source.
