ALGIERS- Algeria included over 1.93 million economic operators on the trade register until end of June 2017, an increase of 41,805 operators compared to the end of 2016 (+2,21%), the National Centre for Trade Register (CNRC) told APS.
They are 1.752 million operators exercising under the status of natural persons (91% of the totality) and 180,45 as legal entities (companies), which is 9%.
By province, Algiers ranks first in terms of the setting up of economic operators with 245,882 registered (nearly 13% of the total), followed by Oran with 94.367 (nearly 5%), Setif with 82.678 (4.2%), Tizi-Ouzou with 80,770 (4.1%) and Constantine with 67,646 (3.5%).
By type of the activity, natural persons operate firstly in retail distribution (44.06% of the total of economic operators-natural persons), followed by services (38.6%), production of goods (13.44%), wholesale distribution (3.62%), craft production (0.26%), and export (0.02%).
As for operators registered as companies, they activate much more in services (32.6% of the total of companies), the production of goods (29.5%), imports for resale in the same condition (19.52%), wholesale distribution (9.92%), retail distribution (7.02%), craft production (0.8%), and export (0.7%).
As for the electronic trade register (RCE) set up in March 2014, the overall number of operators holders of this kind of document established at 636,790 in end of June, which is 550,087 natural persons and 86,703 legal entities.
Foreign economic operators: More than 13,100 operating in Algeria
The number of foreign economic operators on the trade register reached 13,107 (0.6% of the total of economic operators), made up of 10,708 companies whose manager is of foreign nationality, and 2399 operators under the status of natural persons.
