Algerian-Brazilian working meeting kicks off in Algiers

ALGIERS- The Algerian-Brazilian working meeting, as part of the working visit paid by Brazilian Foreign Minister Aloysio Nunes Ferreira Filho to Algeria, kicked off Monday, in Algiers, under the chairmanship of Foreign Affairs Minister Abdelkader Messahel and his Brazilian counterpart.
Brazil’s Foreign Minister is on a working visit to Algeria to take part in the meeting of the Algerian-Brazilian Strategic Dialogue, at the invitation of Messahel.
A first meeting of the Algerian-Brazilian Dialogue was held in October 2015 in Algiers. The agreement on its creation was signed in the 4th session of the inter-governmental joint committee, held in Brasilia on 19 July 2010.
This first meeting was devoted to the implementation of mechanisms likely to boost and intensify the Algerian-Brazilian Strategic dialogue .
It was also the opportunity to discuss the state of the bilateral relations and prospects to strengthen them, through notably, the implementation of programmes, projects and partnership initiatives, mutually beneficial in all fields.
Algeria and Brazil committed to working for the strengthening of the economic relations and their diversification and the consolidation of the legal framework between the two countries, according to a joint communiqué.
They also committed to encouraging development and cooperation as well as bilateral exchanges in energy, health, trade, public works, agriculture, social development, higher education and scientific research.
