ALGIERS-An Algerian agriculture exhibition will take place between 31 January and 1 February 2019 in Lyon (France) to promote domestic agricultural products,
announced CEO of the Public group for the Valorization of Agricultural Products (GVAPRO), Mustapha Belhanini.
Themed “Journée Algérie” (Algeria Day), the event will bring together 7 large domestic operators in the tree, market garden, olive, phoenicultural and potato seed sectors as well as other local products.
The event seeks to showcase national products and engage in trade partnerships, the same official told the press.
During the exhibition, an Algerian delegation representing the agricultural sector will visit the Lyon wholesale market, where a large number of operators from the national community are active and had already showed interest in collaborating with Algerian operators and visiting their farms in Algeria.
In this regard, GVAPRO CEO said that this economic event would thus showcase national products to economic operators of the “Rungis lyonnais” wholesale market, including operators from the Algerian diaspora.
“We can also benefit from their experience in terms of adding value to agricultural products, particularly for better marketing,” he said.
The “Journée Algérie” in Lyon are organized by the Algerian Consulate in Lyon in collaboration with the “Business France” office at the French Embassy in Algeria and the French region Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes.
In addition, Belhanini emphasized the contribution of Algerian diplomatic representations, which, according to him, play a major role in promoting national products abroad.
“Our diplomatic representatives, particularly in Europe and Africa, actively contribute to placing the agricultural products of our public and private operators on international trade fairs,” he said.
Algeria will take part in international economic events scheduled for next February in Berlin and Paris, announced Belhanini.
