Algeria-Saudi Arabia parliamentary friendship and fraternity group set up

ALGIERS-The Algeria-Saudi Arabia parliamentary friendship and fraternity group was set up Sunday at the headquarters of the Council of the Nation (Upper House) in order
to strengthen cooperation relations between the two countries.
The installation ceremony was chaired by the Vice-President of the Council of the Nation in charge of foreign relations, Leila Brahimi, in the presence of the Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and National Community Abroad, Omar Dadi Adoun, the Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the parliamentary friendship group, Kamel Bouchama and Hadj Khalil Laarousi, Saudia’s Ambassador to Algeria, Abdullah Benacer al Basiri and members of the group.
Speaking on the occasion, Brahmi said that the installation of the Algeria-Saudi Arabia group of friendship and brotherhood “is another achievement that boosts privileged bilateral relations.”
“As an important event in the process of strengthening relations between the two parties, the installation of the parliamentary group will further consolidate the parliamentary diplomacy linking the Algerian Parliament and the Saudi Shura Council,” she said.
For his part, the chairman of the Algeria-Saudi Arabia friendship group, Bouchama said that “several meetings will be held to discuss, consult and agree on ways to strengthen the Algeria-Saudi Arabia relations in the best interests of the peoples of both countries.”
The ambassador of Saudi Arabia said “the installation of this group will undoubtedly tighten historical relations uniting the two countries.”
The installation of this group coincides with the visit of a delegation of the Saudi Shura Council to Algeria, a visit that shows the importance of ties between the two states, said the diplomat.
“Saudi Arabia seeks to support economic relations between the two countries under the new law on investment that will encourage Saudi investors to come and work in Algeria.”
On this occasion, the Saudi ambassador called on Algerian investors to invest in the Kingdom as part of its 2020-2030economic vision.
