Algeria condemns “coup” attempt in Gabon

ALGIERS- Algeria has condemned the “coup” attempt Monday morning in Gabon, welcoming the prompt restoration of the constitutional order in this country,
said a communiqué of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“Algeria, which has always rejected all the attempts of seizing power by force, welcomes the prompt restoration of the constitutional order in this friendly country and underlines the joint African position taken at the 35th Summit of the Organization of African Unity (OAU), held in Algiers in July 1999, devoted to the African Union’s constitutive act which condemns and rejects any anti-constitutional change in the continent’s countries,” said the source.
