ORAN-Over 250 exhibitors representing 15 countries will partake in the 7th International Food Industry Exhibition (SIAG19) scheduled for 27-30 March at the Oran Convention Centre, organizers announced Monday.
Organized by “Exploline global events” communication agency, this event will be held under the patronage of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Fishing, with the participation of the Ministry of Industry and Mines.
The exhibition seeks to “showcase the potential of the domestic agri-food industry. This year’s edition is themed “The promotion of domestic products, with a focus on how to export this product,” organizer Mahmoud El Hanni told APS.
Forty countries will take part in this event, including France, Spain, Brazil, Turkey and Korea, with a view to boosting exports of domestic products to Africa, said the source.
In parallel with the agri-food industry, SIAG includes two events, the first edition of the package, process and logistics exhibition “PackExpo2019” and the national forum on milk products “Alben.”
Given the increase in demand and the progress in production, transport and communication technologies, “PackExpo2019” will be an opportunity to showcase the latest developments in packaging equipment.
As for the “Alban 2019” inter-professional forum on milk products, it will be a venue for economic actors to exchange views and propose solutions adapted to the various concerns of this sector, El Hanni said.
SIAG will also create a meeting place where national and foreign companies can exchange experiences and develop mutually beneficial business relationships.
The four-day event organizers expect more than 3,500 trade visitors and 25,000 visitors from the general public.
