Africa's vision on partnership, peace and emergence highlighted

BAMAKO (Mali)- Prime Minister Abdelamalek Sellal, on Saturday in Bamako highlighted Africa’s vision on “partnership, peace and emergence,” the theme of the 27th Africa-France Summit.
Sellal is representing President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika at this Summit.
In this regard, he said that its appropriation process and aware of its priorities, Africa has set up mechanisms of strategic planning and coordination tools through the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD) and its agency of planning and coordination closely working with the regional economic communities.
The Premier cited the detailed programme on agricultural development (PDDAA), the Programme of Infrastructures Development in Africa (PIDA) and the Programme of Algerian Indicators of Sciences, Technology and Innovation (STI), which constitute the “le natural repository” of the actions identified by the final declaration to be submitted to the Africa-France Summit.
“Certainly, these Africans programmes, both ambitious and realistic, represent the suitable response to create job-generating growth and counter the multiple dangers facing Africa’s best assets which is youth.”
In this regard, Sellal added that orienting the debate towards education, vocational training, innovation and digitization “is absolutely important for us as it includes a potential of African integration that many of our countries can support.”
“Concerning the achievement of the regional infrastructure projects, for which President Abdelaziz Bouteflika, is champion as part of the Presidential Infrastructure Champion Initiative (PICI), Algeria is seeking to be part of the completion of the 4800-Km Algiers-Lagos Trans-Saharan Highway’s national section,” he added.
The completion of the Trans-Saharan Road last section, located in Niger is planned 2017.
“Fibreglass cable linked to the international network has been laid in the Algerian territory to provide this large area with ICT services,” said Sellal.
He also underlined the “positive progress” consisting in the growing interest expressed by the African businessmen community to the African Union major programmes on development, notably the programme of infrastructures.
The “Algerian government is ready to accompany the constructive three-party cooperation proposals which might be made in the benefit of the continent integration.”
