ALGIERS- Minister of Maghreb Affairs, African Union and Arab League Abdelkader Messahel will represent Algeria in the Euromed Conference on the Mediterranean dialogues organized from Thursday to Saturday in Rome, said Thursday Foreign Affairs Ministry in a communiqué.
On this occasion, Messahel will present a paper under the theme “security and development,” said the source.
In Rome, Messahel will represent Algeria on Sunday in the international conference on Libya, at the joint invitation of Italian Foreign Affairs Minister Paolo Gentiloni and American Secretary of State John Kerry.
In addition to Algeria, this conference will see the participation of the United Nations Security Council permanent members, Italy, Spain, Germany, Egypt, Tunisia, UN Special Representative for Libya Martin Kobler, the European Union as well as other countries of the region, added the source.
The conference, which will be held in “an important moment in the UN process of resolution of the Libyan crisis, is meant to strengthen the emerging consensus in Libya and at the level of the international community, to quickly reach a political solution in this country, allowing the formation of a national unity government able to manage the transitional period.”
