Qatar Food and Hospitality Show: Djellab highlights Algerian products’ export opportunities to Qatar

DOHA- Minister of Trade Said Djellab underlined Tuesday, in Doha, that great cooperation opportunities existed between the Algerian and Qatari economic operators,
emphasizing the big export opportunities to access the Qatari market as well as other Gulf markets.
The minister who visited the stand of a subsidiary of Lulu Group International, on the sidelines of the Qatar Food and Hospitality Show 2019 , organized in Doha from 6 to 8 November, said that the Algerian operators specialized in foreign trade are studying currently the nature of the Qatari market to define the Algerian products to be exported to Qatar.
Algeria has high quality products that comply with the standards required in Qatar, affirmed Djallab, adding that this event constitutes “an opportunity to coordinate the work with Algeria’s embassy in Doha and to establish contacts with other major distribution companies.”
This space enabled the Algerian operators to exchange information with this group’s officials and provide explanations on their various activities.
For his part, the regional director of Lulu Group International pointed out that huge cooperation opportunities exist between Qatar’s biggest distribution operator and the Algerian economic operators.
Lulu Group expressed its interest for Algerian farm products, like dates, olives, fruits and vegetables as well as juice and canned food.
For his part, the head of the Algerian Chamber of Trade and Industry (CACI) Mohamed Laid Benamor welcomed this initiative that will allow exchanging more information and creating strong ties between the two countries’ operators in collaboration with Qatar’s Trade and Industry Chamber.
Benamor announced the holding on Wednesday of a meeting between CACI’s officials and their Qatari counterparts at the Chamber headquarters to examine “future cooperation prospects.”
Algeria, which is the event’s guest of honor, will explore the partnership and investment opportunities in the Qatari market.
