ALGIERS – The minister of Energy Mustapha Guitouni held discussions, in Cairo (Egypt), with the Egyptian minister of Oil and Water Resources Tarek El Molla, and the South African Minister of Energy David Mahlobo on energy cooperation,
said the ministry in a communiqué.
On the sidelines of the holding of the 2nd edition of the Egypt Petroleum Show (EGYPS2018) taking place since Monday in Cairo, the ministry of Energy broached, with his South African counterpart, investment and partnership opportunities, as well as the exchange of experiences and the know how in the energy field.
According to the source, the minister also insisted on the possibility to develop, with South Africa, joint-ventures in order to position themselves on the African market given both countries’ wealth, know-how, the quality of human resources and their strategic geographical position.
On the other hand, Guitouni and his Egyptian counterpart discussed bilateral relations in energy, and the ways to strengthen them.
The two ministers dubbed the bilateral relations “excellent,” and expressed their willingness to make them “even stronger” by studying together all the possibilities available to both countries in the electrical, gaz and oil industries.
