ALGIERS-The Tunisian Minister of Interior Lotfi Brahem on Sunday said that his visit to Algeria was part of “the tradition of communication aiming at exchanging security experiences
for the benefit of the Algerian and Tunisian peoples.”

“My visit to Algeria is part the tradition of communication aiming at exchanging security experiences for the benefit of the Algerian and Tunisian peoples,” Brahem told the press following his meeting with Minister of Interior, Local Authorities and National Planning Noureddine Bedoui.

Stressing that this is his first official visit to a foreign country, Brahem conveyed the greetings of Tunisian President Beji Caïd Essebsi and Premier Youssef Chahed to President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika and Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia.

For his part, Bedoui underlined the importance of “preserving security in both countries and the serenity of their peoples. Therefore, Algeria and Tunisia must give priority to communication and security coordination in various fields.”

For Bedoui, his meeting with Brahem is “an opportunity to implement the instructions given by both presidents to raise relations to a very high level.”

“We focused on bilateral relations and underlined the need for permanent cooperation and coordination between Algerian and Tunisian security services to protect our countries,” stressed Bedoui.

“These values are entrenched in our historical and brotherly relations. We must meet all challenges,” concluded Bedoui.
