Algerian-Russian relations made “promising” progress

ALGIERS- The relations between Algeria and Russia have made “promising” progress, said Tuesday in Algiers Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.
The Russian Premier added that the two countries share similar views about several international questions.
“We noticed that the relations between Algeria and Russia are significantly developing,” said Medvedev following his audience with President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika.
I had “fruitful” discussions with the Algerian officials, which led to “new approaches” in the economic field and new investments in various sectors, notably energy and advanced technologies, as well as other sectors in which “we have a truly huge potential to develop together,” he added.
The Russian PM who said that he had transmitted to President Bouteflika the greetings of President Putin, hailed the “constant improvement” of the Algerian-Russian relations, built on “sound foundations.”
Medvedev and the Head of the State discussed the international questions, notably the fight against terrorism and the need for revolving the conflicts all over the world.
“We have noticed that the Algerian and Russian positions are fairly consistent and the two countries’ Foreign Ministries will remain in contact so to coordinate their efforts, in compliance with the international law,” he said, expressing thanks to President Bouteflika and Premier Ahmed Ouyahia, for “this successful visit.”
