Intense diplomatic activities of Prime Minister in Lome

LOME- The African Union Extraordinary Summit on Maritime Security and Development in Africa, held in Lomé on 15 October 2016 witnessed intense diplomatic activity of Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal who was representing President of the Republic, Abdelaziz Bouteflika in this Summit.
The premier had a series of meetings with several African Heads of State.
The discussions focused on current issues, as well as the challenges of the maritime space at the economic, security and environmental level.
Sellal also debated the aspects related to the 2063 strategic vision of African development and has highlighted the role and special place of Algeria within the continental organization.
Algeria’s leadership role and contribution to the efforts of the continent aiming at strengthening peace, stability and development of Africa were highly appreciated and welcomed.
The next political milestones of the African Union were the subject of a long exchange of views with each of the speakers.
The Premier’s meeting with Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Abdelaziz has allowed examining the conflicts in the African continent and the Arab countries, as well as the security issues in the Maghreb region, especially.
The upcoming High Commission of Algerian-Mauritanian cooperation in Algiers, under the co-chairmanship of the Prime Ministers of both countries was also discussed.
Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal has also met with Sahrawi President Ghali, Malian President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita, Senegalese president Macky Sall and Kenya’s President Uhuru Kenyatta.
